SUMMARY:The Sacred Enneagram Workshop | Santa Monica\, California
DESCRIPTION:An Exploratory Enneagram Workshop in Santa Monica\nThe Sacred Enneagram: Finding Your Unique Path to Spiritual Growth\nAn Exploratory Workshop with Chris Heuertz\n\n \n\n  \nHave you ever asked yourself the quintessential human question of identity\, “Who am I?” Most of us spend a lifetime trying to figure out who we are and how we relate to others and God. \nUnfortunately\, in the process of forming an identity\, we succumb to building up lies and illusions around our sense of self that only lead us further away from who we truly are. But the Enneagram offers a bright path to cutting through the internal clutter and finding our way back to who we are created to be. \nBased on the nine classic archetypes of human character structure\, the Enneagram exposes the nine ways we lie to ourselves about who we think we are\, illustrates the nine ways we get lost\, and reveals nine ways we find our way home to our True Self and to God. \nWhether you’ve heard of the Enneagram or not\, this workshop is for anyone who’s interested in learning more. \nWhat is the Enneagram?\nAs a sacred map to our soul\, the Enneagram is a compassionate tool\, sketching out possibilities and opportunities\, pointing us back to our True Self. \nThe Enneagram explains the “why” of how we think\, act\, and feel. The Enneagram helps us come to terms with our gifts as well as the addictive psychological patterns that tether us to our greatest interpersonal\, spiritual\, and emotional challenges. \nWhat can the Enneagram do for me? \nCompared with other self-exploration profiles and assessments\, many have found that the Enneagram takes self-awareness deeper. \nUltimately\, the Enneagram reveals our best\, truest self with its potential to heal a world in need. As a tool for spiritual awareness\, the Enneagram moves beyond simple rendering of each type\, to illuminating a path to develop our identity and spirituality. \nFrom the Enneagram-curious to the seasoned lifelong enthusiast\, The Sacred Enneagram one-day is for anyone who cares about nurturing a deep spirituality rooted in self-awareness. This workshop offers an innovative way of re-imagining the usefulness of the Enneagram that is tremendously practical. \nTopics Covered in the workshop will include:\n\nWho Am I? Simple tools to identify your personal type and how to make sense of your Enneagram test results.\nWhere Does the Enneagram Come From? A brief history of the Enneagram offering in-depth background on the conflicted origins of the Enneagram from Egypt to South America and beyond.\nHow Do I Learn to Grow in Discernment? Clear explanation of how the Enneagram is a fractal of perpetual triads with specific focus on the Intelligence Centers and Harmony Triads.\nWhy Do I Think\, Feel\, and Act in the Ways I Do? Introducing the basics through a curated summary of the nine types to help identify your personal type and make sense of your Enneagram test results. This includes your healthy and unhealthy behaviors\, why you became the number you are\, your fundamental needs\, basic fears\, passions\, fixations\, and invitations to spiritual growth.\nWhat is the Shape of my Tragic Flaw and How Do I Grow with It? An explanation of the passions of the Enneagram to help understand how your habits act as coping mechanisms and how can you overcome them to be more whole.\nWhy Do I Get Stuck Personally\, Professionally\, and Spiritually? An examination of the Enneagram’s conflict avoidance styles and social styles with useful suggestions for practical application.\nWhat is the Most Effective Way for me to Grow Spiritually? The Sacred Enneagram workshop offers practical guidelines for how to enlist contemplative prayer practices for each type.\n\nRegister Here Now\n\n\nLearn more here: “What I’ve Learned from the Enneagram” \nOrder a copy of The Sacred Enneagram: Finding Your Unique Path to Spiritual Growth now! \n\n                      \n                               \n \n \n Register Here Now\n \n       \n\nAbout Chris Heuertz: Chris has spent his life bearing witness to the possibility of hope among a world that has legitimate reasons to question God’s goodness. Chris has taught the Enneagram all over the world (in places like Morocco\, Thailand\, South Africa\, Indonesia\, and New Zealand) and is the author of the upcoming book\, The Sacred Enneagram: Finding Your Unique Path to Spiritual Growth. \nOriginally from Omaha\, Nebraska\, Chris studied at Asbury University in Kentucky before moving to India where he was mentored by Mother Teresa for three years. While living in India\, he helped launch South Asia’s first pediatric AIDS care home\, creating a safe haven for children. \nIn 2012 Chris and his wife Phileena launched Gravity\, a Center for Contemplative Activism. \nNamed one of Outreach magazine’s “30 Emerging Influencers Reshaping Leadership\,” Chris is a curator of unlikely friendships\, an instigator for good\, a champion of collaboration\, and a witness to hope\, Chris fights for a renewal of contemplative activism. \n[Enneagram Illustration by Elnora Turner. It helps Christians in particular\, but seekers from all walks of life in general\, to connect the needs of their body\, mind\, and heart with a wellspring of spiritual depth found in the Christian contemplative tradition.\nMindful Silence is rich with themes of the spiritual journey like “Discovering Darkness is Light\,” Finding Liberation by Discernment\,” and “Unknowing to Know.” Each chapter introduces the reader to a trusted teacher in the Christian contemplative tradition as well as historic prayer practice.\n  \n\n\n\n \nHalf Day Retreat Schedule\n\n\nSaturday  | December 1\, 2018\n9:00-10:00 AM Welcome with Coffee and Refreshments\n10:15-11:15 AM Explore Fundamentals of Contemplative Spirituality\n11:30-12:30 PM Group Discussion & Spiritual Practice\n12:30-1:00 PM Book Signing\n  \nTeaching Schedule\nSunday  | December 2\, 2018\n8:15 AM-1:00 PM Church Service Teaching\n  \n\n\n\nTo invite Phileena to speak\, lead a retreat or gathering\, or teach yoga\, please connect with us here.

SUMMARY:The Sacred Enneagram Workshop in Seattle\, Washington
DESCRIPTION:For a list of current enneagram workshops click here.\nThe Sacred Enneagram: Finding Your Unique Path to Spiritual Growth\nAn Introductory Workshop with Chris Heuertz\n \nWhat is the Enneagram? \nThe enneagram is a sacred map that helps identify unconscious and subconscious motivations for acting\, feeling\, and thinking.  It reveals facets of personal character traits but is different from other personality profiles because of its links to childhood wounds and the way it illuminates a path forward for healing and wholeness. \nCompared with other self-exploration profiles and assessments\, many have found that the enneagram piercingly takes things deeper. \nWith roots in ancient Christianity\, this is a powerful resource for anyone’s contemplative path; it simultaneously dismantles the illusions about us\, while revealing our essence—our True Self. \nUltimately\, the enneagram supports offering our best self to a world in a need. Whether you’ve heard of the Enneagram or not\, this is a great workshop for anyone who’s interested in learning more. \nThe workshop will include: \nPersonal inventory tool to identify your personal type and to translate results. \nExplanation on how to understand what the enneagram system entails. \nBackground on the conflicted and contested origins of the enneagram. \nCurated summary of the nine types (includes wings\, stress/heart points\, fundamental needs\, basic fears\, passions\, fixations\, invitations to spiritual growth) \nSummary of the enneagram’s communication and social styles. \nContemplative prayer postures for each type. \nCosts:  $165 registration (note price is in US Dollars) \nNote: Lunch is not included.   \nSpace is limited so register now to make sure you have a spot! \nRegister Here Now\n\nAbout Chris Heuertz: Chris has spent his life bearing witness to the possibility of hope among a world that has legitimate reasons to question God’s goodness. \nOriginally from Omaha\, Nebraska\, Chris studied at Asbury University in Kentucky before moving to India where he was mentored by Mother Teresa for three years. SUMMARY:Grounding Retreat in Seattle\, Washington
DESCRIPTION:Gravity is partnering with Eastlake Community Church to provide a contemplative retreat for staff. This is a private\, closed retreat just for EastLake staff. \n  \nGrounding retreats are for people who are new to contemplative spirituality. \nDrawing from the Christian contemplative tradition\, retreatants explore history\, methodology and practice\, have opportunity to debrief experience of contemplative prayer\, and discover implications for daily life and faith. \nGrounding retreats give participants the opportunity to detach and rest from hectic and fragmented lives to engage in small doses of solitude\, silence and stillness\, within a supportive community. \nRetreatants leave Grounding retreats more centered and grounded in their identity\, with a deeper understanding for how to integrate their inner life of contemplation with their outer life of activity. \nRetreatants taste the possibility of living from a place of more wholeness\, peace and compassion.
