SUMMARY:Mindful Silence Weekend Retreat | Austin\, Texas
DESCRIPTION:MINDFUL SILENCE:\nTHE HEART OF CHRISTIAN CONTEMPLATION\n  \n\n \nWEEKEND RETREAT\nPrivate Event\nAustin\, Texas\n  \n\n\n\n \nMindful Silence really couldn’t be more timely. In some ways our society is spinning out of control. People are unhinged from the center and ground of being. This makes them ripe for the graces found in contemplative spirituality. On the other hand\, secular mindfulness is answering the anxious minds of many. But people of faith long for more. They want to link their meditation practice with their faith tradition. This is where Mindful Silence comes in. It helps Christians in particular\, but seekers from all walks of life in general\, to connect the needs of their body\, mind\, and heart with a wellspring of spiritual depth found in the Christian contemplative tradition.\nMindful Silence is rich with themes of the spiritual journey like “Discovering Darkness is Light\,” Finding Liberation by Discernment\,” and “Unknowing to Know.” Each chapter introduces the reader to a trusted teacher in the Christian contemplative tradition as well as historic prayer practice.\n  \n\n\n\n \nThis event is a weekend retreat with a focus on contemplation and runs from Friday\, November 16 at 7pm until Sunday\, November 18 at noon.\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nTo invite Phileena to speak\, lead a retreat or gathering\, or teach yoga\, please connect with us here.

DESCRIPTION:An Exploratory Enneagram Workshop in Mableton\nThe Sacred Enneagram: Finding Your Unique Path to Spiritual Growth\nAn Exploratory Workshop with Chris Heuertz\n\n \n\n  \nHave you ever asked yourself the quintessential human question of identity\, “Who am I?” Most of us spend a lifetime trying to figure out who we are and how we relate to others and God. \nUnfortunately\, in the process of forming an identity\, we succumb to building up lies and illusions around our sense of self that only lead us further away from who we truly are. But the Enneagram offers a bright path to cutting through the internal clutter and finding our way back to who we are created to be. \nBased on the nine classic archetypes of human character structure\, the Enneagram exposes the nine ways we lie to ourselves about who we think we are\, illustrates the nine ways we get lost\, and reveals nine ways we find our way home to our True Self and to God. \nWhether you’ve heard of the Enneagram or not\, this workshop is for anyone who’s interested in learning more. \nWhat is the Enneagram?\nAs a sacred map to our soul\, the Enneagram is a compassionate tool\, sketching out possibilities and opportunities\, pointing us back to our True Self. \nThe Enneagram explains the “why” of how we think\, act\, and feel. The Enneagram helps us come to terms with our gifts as well as the addictive psychological patterns that tether us to our greatest interpersonal\, spiritual\, and emotional challenges. \nWhat can the Enneagram do for me? \nCompared with other self-exploration profiles and assessments\, many have found that the Enneagram takes self-awareness deeper. \nUltimately\, the Enneagram reveals our best\, truest self with its potential to heal a world in need. As a tool for spiritual awareness\, the Enneagram moves beyond simple rendering of each type\, to illuminating a path to develop our identity and spirituality. \nFrom the Enneagram-curious to the seasoned lifelong enthusiast\, The Sacred Enneagram one-day is for anyone who cares about nurturing a deep spirituality rooted in self-awareness. This workshop offers an innovative way of re-imagining the usefulness of the Enneagram that is tremendously practical. \nTopics Covered in the workshop will include:\n\nWho Am I? Simple tools to identify your personal type and how to make sense of your Enneagram test results.\nWhere Does the Enneagram Come From? A brief history of the Enneagram offering in-depth background on the conflicted origins of the Enneagram from Egypt to South America and beyond.\nHow Do I Learn to Grow in Discernment? Clear explanation of how the Enneagram is a fractal of perpetual triads with specific focus on the Intelligence Centers and Harmony Triads.\nWhy Do I Think\, Feel\, and Act in the Ways I Do? Introducing the basics through a curated summary of the nine types to help identify your personal type and make sense of your Enneagram test results. This includes your healthy and unhealthy behaviors\, why you became the number you are\, your fundamental needs\, basic fears\, passions\, fixations\, and invitations to spiritual growth.\nWhat is the Shape of my Tragic Flaw and How Do I Grow with It? An explanation of the passions of the Enneagram to help understand how your habits act as coping mechanisms and how can you overcome them to be more whole.\nWhy Do I Get Stuck Personally\, Professionally\, and Spiritually? An examination of the Enneagram’s conflict avoidance styles and social styles with useful suggestions for practical application.\nWhat is the Most Effective Way for me to Grow Spiritually? The Sacred Enneagram workshop offers practical guidelines for how to enlist contemplative prayer practices for each type.\n\nPlease contact Vinings Lake Church for registration details. \n\n\nLearn more here: “What I’ve Learned from the Enneagram” \nOrder a copy of The Sacred Enneagram: Finding Your Unique Path to Spiritual Growth now! \n\n                      \n                                         \n\n\nAbout Chris Heuertz: Chris has spent his life bearing witness to the possibility of hope among a world that has legitimate reasons to question God’s goodness. Chris has taught the Enneagram all over the world (in places like Morocco\, Thailand\, South Africa\, Indonesia\, and New Zealand) and is the author of the upcoming book\, The Sacred Enneagram: Finding Your Unique Path to Spiritual Growth. \nOriginally from Omaha\, Nebraska\, Chris studied at Asbury University in Kentucky before moving to India where he was mentored by Mother Teresa for three years. While living in India\, he helped launch South Asia’s first pediatric AIDS care home\, creating a safe haven for children. \nIn 2012 Chris and his wife Phileena launched Gravity\, a Center for Contemplative Activism. \nNamed one of Outreach magazine’s “30 Emerging Influencers Reshaping Leadership\,” Chris is a curator of unlikely friendships\, an instigator for good\, a champion of collaboration\, and a witness to hope\, Chris fights for a renewal of contemplative activism. \n[Enneagram Illustration by Elnora Turner. SUMMARY:IEA Chapter Meeting: The Sacred Enneagram with Chris Heuertz
DESCRIPTION:If we can’t self-observe\, then we can’t self-correct. The Sacred Enneagram helps us self-observe\, helps us tell the truth about who we really are— coming clean from our delusions and illusions\, so that we can locate the authentic source of our identity. \nFocusing on a contemplative approach to the Enneagram invites us to resist the reductionism of inner fragmentation\, to realize we aren’t as bad as our worst moments or as good as our greatest successes—but that we are far better than we can imagine and carry the potential to be far worse than we fear. \nUltimately the Enneagram is about excavating essence. Rather than it being a tool for self-absorption\, the Enneagram is a tool for self-liberation. Join our guest Chris Heuertz who will offer: \n\nAn accessible introduction to contemplative practices and mindfulness intentions that can be aligned with Enneagram types.\nAn introduction to nine unique contemplative postures and mindfulness intentions that align with Enneagram types to be applied to spiritual formation.\n\nBringing the Enneagram into a contemplative focus offers a compassionate sketch of possibilities\, reminding us that the Enneagram is fundamentally less about nine types of people and more about nine paths back to our True Self\, nine paths to God. \nJoin the International Enneagram Association of Georgia in Atlanta for this Chapter Meeting with Chris. Tickets are available here. \nTo inquire about the enneagram or about Chris working with your group\, please connect with us here.

SUMMARY:The Sacred Enneagram Workshop | Chicago
DESCRIPTION:An Exploratory Enneagram Workshop in Chicago\nThe Sacred Enneagram: Finding Your Unique Path to Spiritual Growth\nAn Exploratory Workshop with Chris Heuertz\n\n \n\n  \nHave you ever asked yourself the quintessential human question of identity\, “Who am I?” Most of us spend a lifetime trying to figure out who we are and how we relate to others and God. The Sacred Enneagram workshop offers practical guidelines for how to enlist contemplative prayer practices for each type.\n\nCosts:  Non-refundable\, $125.00 registration \n\n\nNote: Includes lunch and a copy of The Sacred Enneagram: Finding Your Unique Path to Spiritual Growth \nSpace is limited so register now to make sure you have a spot! \nLearn more here: “What I’ve Learned from the Enneagram” \nOrder a copy of The Sacred Enneagram: Finding Your Unique Path to Spiritual Growth now! \nRegister Here Now\n\n                      \n                                         \n\n\nAbout Chris Heuertz: Chris has spent his life bearing witness to the possibility of hope among a world that has legitimate reasons to question God’s goodness. SUMMARY:Rabbit Hole Lectures at Christ City Church in Memphis\, Tennessee
DESCRIPTION:Theology is a journey to know God more\, yet Scripture is clear that part of that journey is getting to know ourselves — because we are the Imago Dei (image of God). To know God well\, we have to be willing to know ourselves well.  \nOne of the greatest tools church mothers and fathers\, theologians\, and counselors have all used over the last 2\,000 years is the Enneagram. For some\, this has been reduced to a personality assessment\, yet when understood and applied as it was originally intended\, we find the Enneagram becomes a lens through which we see how we’re made in the image of God and how we can find ways to grow more into a fully-alive human.  \nJoin Christ City Church for their first official Rabbit Hole Lecture series February 23rd\, 6-10pm\, as Chris Heuertz\, author of The Sacred Enneagram\, walks us down the curious path of knowing ourselves more\, and our Creator\, too. PURCHASE TICKETS HERE. \nTo inquire about the enneagram or about Chris working with your group\, please connect with us here.
