Mindful Silence at the Rabbit Hole Lectures | Memphis, Tennessee
August 23 @ 6:00 pm$15
If you’re able to get beyond the the mess of modern, consumer-driven Christianity that is more interested in the dollar and social media followers than transformation and renewal, you’ll find a faith that is founded upon prophets and mystics. These early followers of Christ left society for solitude in the desert in hopes of meeting God and centering themselves through contemplation all in order to find the courage and voice to step back into the world to seek change by speaking against the power systems of the day…even if it meant being ostracized and marginalized.
These mystics and prophets, desert mothers and fathers, came to be known as contemplatives, and they show us that there’s power in a centered-life. And at the core of this contemplative life is a passion to engage the world and make it better – to be “contemplatives in action.”
Join us for our next Rabbit Hole Lecture as speaker and author, Phileena Heuertz, comes to unpack the power of a contemplative life and how it translates into bringing change to ourselves that ultimately seeks wholeness and healing for the world around us.
Join Christ City Church for their next Rabbit Hole Lecture series with Phileena Heuertz, author of Mindful Silence: The Heart of Christian Contemplation. Ticket information coming soon.
