The Series
The Faith & Life Lecture Series is a community service of St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church, located in Plymouth, Minnesota. The series began in 2003 and has run continuously since then, featuring five speakers every year.

After 20 years in international humanitarian work, Chris Heuertz founded Gravity, a Center for Contemplative Activism in 2012 to support the development of consciousness by making contemplative practice accessible to individuals, communities, and organizations who engage in challenging social justice perils of our time. He’s authored 4 books including his most recent, The Sacred Enneagram: Finding Your Unique Path to Spiritual Growth.
At this event, he will 1) introduce the challenges of nurturing contemplative spirituality for people with actives lives, 2) frame contemplative practice around postures of solitude, silence, and stillness, and 3) guide the group through a contemplative practice and then take time to debrief the practice with the series audience.
